Thank you for sharing all you do. Question: how long are your classes? 90 minute blocks? And F451–are you teaching that to your 9th graders or middle school students? Thank you!
My pleasure. I see students every day, alternating between 40 and 80 minutes. 8th graders — 451 has been part of our school’s curriculum for a long time (this is year 3 for me at the school). Some classes love it; others struggle to get into it. But overall a net positive, for sure.
Thank you so much, Jarred. pre-lockdown and remote learning I have taught that novel to even 7th graders (honors/accelerated). since then, new district, new state, and was wondering if I could bring it up. I thought I was an outlier then… but if you are now, then maybe I can bring it up! thank you!
Jarred, I'd love to hear more about how you teach vocabulary. Do you just teach these roots in alphabetical order, the way the linked pages look? You teach 12 per week, per 2 weeks? What does your assessment look like? Thank you! Loved the YouTube video. Thanks for sharing that too.
